Writing Lab

The Writing Lab aims to provide individual, personalised attention regarding writing matters, both academic and creative (and any combination of both).

The ideal beneficiaries of the Writing Lab are UHasselt Architecture and Art faculty-based PhD students, but MA students and faculty members are very welcome if slots are available.

We can assist you with many different pieces of writing, for example:

  • papers and articles

  • conference presentations

  • abstracts

  • proposals

  • creative pieces

  • PhD chapters

  • artist statements

  • scripts for multimedia work

We can help you answer questions such as:

  • How do I structure my paper?

  • How do I express this point more clearly?

  • How do I cite Chicago style?

  • How do I introduce this idea/author in the text?

  • How far can I push a citation?

  • How can I play with written form?

  • How does the text meet other media?

  • How do I change the register?

  • How do I nuance an emotion?

Please notice, the Writing Lab cannot discuss subject-specific content, and it is not a copy-editing service.

This service takes place in English.

Interested? Got questions? Want to book a slot? send us an email.

We ask that you provide us with the text to discuss at least a week before the appointment.

Appointments can be remote or on-campus.
